Why an ID instead of a license?
Every message carries the sender's verified name, so the people you text always know who wrote to them. Verifying people — not paperwork — keeps scammers and impersonators off the network and protects everyone who sends honestly.
Messages must follow our Acceptable Use Policy: no scams, no hate speech, no spam.
Questions
Can I really send SMS without a business license?
Yes. SMSHub checks the person behind every account with a government ID instead of asking for a business license. As soon as your ID is approved you can send.
Which ID do you accept?
Your Fayda National ID. It must be valid and in your own name: send both sides of a card, or the photo page of a passport.
What happens after I upload my ID?
A person reviews it. You get a notification when it is approved, and 10 free SMS are added to your balance so you can test right away.
Whose name do recipients see?
Your ID-verified name is added to the end of every message. You can ask for a custom signature such as your shop or brand name (up to 11 characters); after approval a one-time fee of 200 ETB activates it.
What can I send?
Messages people expect: verification codes, order and delivery updates, reminders, appointment notices and customer announcements. Scams, hate speech, threats and spam are blocked — see the Acceptable Use Policy.
How much does it cost?
Credits are prepaid in birr, from 0.90 ETB per credit, with no monthly fee. An SMS to Ethio Telecom uses 1 credit and to Safaricom 2 credits. Credits never expire.
Can I get my money back?
Yes — ask for a refund from Billing. Our team reviews every request and sends approved refunds back through Chapa.
